Digital Fingerprinting for Kids
Envision Federal Credit Union, Sudden Link Media, Life Wise Cable Media and Cumulus Radio teamed up July 25 to offer free “Digital Fingerprinting for Kids,” at Envision Federal’s main branch.
Through “Digital Fingerprinting for Kids,” each child received an 8x10 printout that included the child’s photo and fingerprints, along with his or her personal information, such as height, weight and hair color. Information and fingerprints are strictly for the privacy of the families, and no information has been kept on file. In addition, the first 300 children attending the event received a free DNA Kit and safety whistle with laser light.
This program has helped protect thousands of children from crimes by providing their parents and guardians with practical tools such as the child’s digital fingerprints and safety tips.
“We wanted to encourage families to take advantage of this free service to protect their children,” stated Jim Perkins, Chief Executive Officer of Envision Federal. “Having this information is especially important and we are happy to have brought this opportunity to our local community,” said Perkins.

2008 Envision Federal Scholarship Winners Announced
Congratulations to our winners! First place and $2,500 in scholarship money has been awarded to Sydney Rich, second place and $1,500 went to Lynnsey Herwig, and Shannon Dunn received third place and $1,000 in scholarship funds. All winners are 2008 graduates of Parkway High School.
Envision Federal is very excited about the overall participation in our scholarship program this year. With entries from all three parishes and active involvement from all high school senior counselors it was a difficult task to choose the winners from so many worthy college bound students. The application process included a essay on “What can credit unions do to encourage today’s youth to join and take advantage of credit union products and services?” and a completed application on scholastic honors and awards, extracurricular activities and work experience. With the coming school year we look forward to more scholarship opportunities for the graduating seniors and an active role in our educational community.

2008 Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk
In May of 2008 Envision Federal, formally known as Bossier Federal, sponsored a local community event at the Louisiana Boardwalk. Not only was it the Boardwalk’s Third Anniversary but it was also the 2008 Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk! A group of Bossier FCU employees volunteered to spend their Saturday morning walking for this cause.
Our team included Matt Harper, Lindsay Haley, Danielle Taylor, Anteja Black, Matt Sanders, his wife Heidi, their son Lleyton and Jill Skaggs. Shortly after taking a few espresso shots from the free Sonic stand we were ready for our two-mile trek in our HOPE shirts. The walk went by so quickly simply because we were all talking, laughing and just enjoying being apart of this amazing community event. Overall, it was wonderful way to start a Saturday morning with food, fun and fellowship. It was a great turn out for the Alzheimer’s Association’s first year.
Over $15,000 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Research Fund. Envision Federal strives to take an active role in community events and charitable causes within our area..
